Using the Net to Network~

Well in Marketing 101 in Business School - Networking was presented as one of the most important tools to marketing.  You have to network and make connections to sell your product, especially Real Estate.  And in Real Estate you rely on your circle of influence.  The product we are selling is not just a new pair of shoes or cool phone.  We help people find homes.  A place that holds memories, keeps loved ones sheltered, and is a sanctuary of peace and privacy from our busy lives.  

Real Estate sales is one of the most intimate sales jobs around.  A good Realtor is helping to shape your life.  You have to develop a relationship of trust~ trust in that you have an expert knowledge of the market and product and to represent your client with complete integrity (following a Standard Code of Ethics).   That being said we still have to get the job done, sell houses and make money.  Sell houses for the client, Mr/Mrs Seller to the Customer Mr/Mrs Buyer and vice/verse.  Which brings us back to networking....

So as I refuel, rejuvenate, and retrain for what I hope will soon be the beginning of a newly invigorated Real Estate market, I am relearning how to network.  Social Networking on the net, that is.

There is tweeting, twittering, hash tags, mention columns, connections at @, RT @original source (uncool not to give props to the source), friending, liking, following, posting, #themes, #comedicideas, and trending.  Oh and lest not forget pinning, locating, hooting.  One could spend an entire day or more just networking via the net and completely lose sight of the real job at hand, selling Real Estate.

Ah...
